Join MAX on an approximate 5-mile walk from the Shoreline Lake to Charleston Slough / Soap Pond. The route traverses along the bayfront and along the South Adobe Creek Trail, an old levee road, situated among an expanse of wetlands and marsh habitat. The trail is great for bird watching and travels through an area offering a rich diversity of shorebirds like pelicans and egrets. Some number in the hundreds. Considered an easy route, the level trail generally takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
MAX will start the hike at 10:30 am at Shoreline Lake American Bistro, where we will return for lunch. We can relax and enjoy a Sunday brunch at the café that has a lovely lakeside view of the wildlife and sports enthusiasts on the lake. There are many water sports on the lake, such as windsurfing, kayaking, and sailing. Great place to hang out after the hike.
Address of the Shoreline Lake American Bistro is 3160 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View, CA 94043. Ample parking is available in the surrounding free parking lots. The route has no shade, so consider bringing a hat or cap, as well as water and sunscreen. Link to the Bistro is:
