Join MAX for Smuin Ballet's annual Christmas Ballet LGBTQ+ Night performance to benefit Project Open Hand. For those interested, also join us for a pre-performance dinner at Amber India.
Smuin Ballet’s fiercely festive 2022 edition of The Christmas Ballet returns – showcasing Smuin’s exquisite signature style in a dazzling program of ballet, contemporary, character, Broadway jazz, and tap in two acts.
For the one-night-only LGBTQ+ Night, Smuin Ballet has created special programming and casting that celebrates our vibrant LGBTQ+ community. The performance is divided into a classical first half and a fun and jazzy second half featuring red-hot contemporary dances set to pop favorites.
Every ticket purchased provides a donation to Project Open Hand, founded in 1985. Project Open Hand serves life-saving, medically-tailored nutrition to community members experiencing critical health conditions including HIV/AIDS, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease in San Francisco and Alameda counties.
The Christmas Ballet includes selections that are moving and beautiful and others that are smart, fun, and sure to bring a smile to your face. The performance usually ends on just the right note of joy to send you out onto the streets with a spring in your step!

To purchase your tickets,
- Click here.
- Click Tickets at the top of the page (just to the right of the Smuin logo).
- Select the Tuesday December 20th LGBTQ+ 7:30 pm performance and click on the green "Buy" button.
- Select your seats.
- When the seats you desire are shown at the top of the screen, click the green button labeled: “Buy Tickets Shown Above”.
- Confirm the pricing. Note: For dues-paying members, enter the discount code in the Coupon Code area and click the green “Add Coupon” button. The pricing will then be updated.
- Then click on the Checkout & Pay button.
After you have purchased tickets, please click REGISTER on the left to RSVP and let us know you'll be joining us for this performance.
